Deep, dark, opaque pour; thin khaki colored head, long lasting and fairly creamy despite its thinness. Incredibly rich and sumptuous smell; dark roasted malt grains; a muted note of bourbon and barrel wood; cocoa; aged leather. Fine roasted grain and chocolate notes; bitter; low-key booziness. Heavy body; smooth; a moderate alcohol burn on the palate.
A nice if rather generic barrel aged imperial stout. The base beer does its job while the barrel aging definitely hits with the flavor and boozy heat.
ABV: 11.3 %; pouring temperature: 44 °F; bottling info: LIMITED RELEASE (no date but likely a 2021 release)
Source: purchased at the brewery during their 13th anniversary celebration
