Veneration is an homage to the Trappist Brewers of Belgium, the monastic forefathers of beer. To innovate on their traditions, we took a true-to-style Belgian Quad, added figs and molasses, and aged the whole thing in rye whiskey barrels. The result is a complex beer that’s full of flavor and worthy of the monks that inspired us. We couldn’t think of a better way to express our veneration.

12oz can. Canning date stamp on bottom is '11/22/2023', with an ABV% listing of 13.3%.
Ruby brown colored body. Fizzy tan head swells and then retreats back to islands and a thin ring. No lacing.
Aroma is sweet with fig and molasses. Underlying spicy rye barrel and oak.
Taste is quite sweet from brown sugar and molasses. Big flavor from figs, dates, raisin, and prune. Oak barrel with spicy rye. The sweetened dark fruits linger in the aftertaste.
More than medium mouthfeel. Sticky on the lips. Very good carbonation.
Port wine-like. Higher ABV% does not burn but is warming.

Pours dark brown, almost black, with a moderate one finger head of foam. Aroma is immediately raisins and whiskey. Brown sugar is also detectable. Taste is nicely deep, with rye prominent along with molasses, which is a quite interesting departure from the aroma. Nevertheless, this highly delicious and recommended.
