Appearance: Pours a completely dark black color with a strong, dark and rich tan head. SRM of 24. (4.00)
Aroma: Strong aromas of dark chocolate, some hints of bourbon. Vanilla, sweet espresso and chocolate fudge linger underneath.
Flavor: Strong flavors of dark and rich chocolate upfront. Dark and rich fudge followed by some vanilla bean. More fudge lingers. Mild bourbon and hides it well.
Feel: Heavier body, appropriate carbonation. Soft on the palate. Not overly sweet. Hides the booze well. Bourbon is not overpowering nor too hot. Incredibly smooth. (4.50)
Overall: Nothing better on Christmas Eve than to try a celebratory beer from 3 Sheeps. This is an amazing blend of some of their best. Rich chocolate, sweet espresso, fudge, and vanilla. Hides the bourbon flavor and alcohol warmth well. Incredibly soft and smooth for 12.4%. I'm no stout expert, but trying to summon some knowledge from @GreenBayBA . 3 Sheeps is known for some of their great stouts. They are also big supporters here on BeerAdvocate so am picking up and planning on trying and posting some of their best ones on special occasions. (Rating: 4.26)
