The Wolf, adjuncted. Given my fondness for the plain old Wolf, I picked this up without hesitation. 12 oz. can.
The pour is black, cold. Surprisingly, the nose is lighter than the OG; some sweet malt, barrel, no hint of the add-ons.
The Wolf – Vanilla, Cocoa Nibs, & Coconut has a heavy dose of all three adjuncts. Coconut on top, chocolate, then the vanilla, cascading like a warm day at the base of Devil’s Cascade in the BWCA. Deep, lush malt sweetness. Bourbon that’s whispering in the background & booze that can be felt in the frontal cortex. The rare full/pastry stout that I could keep on drinking after the initial bang is gone.
The original is superior, but this is still a very, very good brew.
