Pours a white one finger-head that quickly goes to a ring and leaves no lace. Crystal clear pale amber color. Strong carbonation and medium bodied. Nose has hints of caramel. Starts sweet but balanced, hops stay in background. My first bottle from Romania and it isn't bad. 330ml bottle gift, available from Vintage Cellar Blacksburg, Va.

The beer poured into the chalice crystal clear pale amber straw withn a low white head which lasted at the surface just barely to lace the glass.
The aroma was malty with a strong caramel impression and a nice Belgian yeast spice. The aroma was almost toffee and very enticing.
The flavor was light caramel and a nice crispness with a low bittering and a lasting, yet very low spice flavor. The bittering was just barely enough to dry out the flavor and the caramel malt flavor seemed to be what would only come from a decoction mash schedule.
The finish was dry with a lasting malt complexity that was surprisingly interesting throughout. The body was medium with a decent carbonation level. A nice beer, not nearly complex enough, but give it a whirl. Nothing like a Romanian Abbey beer...
11.2 ounce (330 ml bottle). Purchased at Vintage Cellar in VA. 03 07 17 on the back label.
