Poured from tap at the brewery.
Pours standard stout hue, dark brown-black with a decent off white head that rapidly faded to an average lace.
The nose is very traditional stout. More anise and fruit than expected (compared to their Noble stout). Some roasted coffee hints, a little molasses, maybe some cocoa.
The flavor shows the oatmeal, rounding out the subtle coffee and rich roasted flavor (maybe roasted game? I don't know - I'm vegetarian!) But it has a nice but not overly impressive flavor profile.
The palate is rather light, much like the Noble stout. The oatmeal is noticeable but doesn't really add much. The finish is nice and lingers.
Overall a good oatmeal stout, though not my favorite or what I would consider one of the best. I would order again if I saw it out and reevaluate.

On tap at the brewery.
Pours a dark brown color with a very thin off white head.
Aromas are nice, light cocoa, oats, and creamy coffee.
Taste is like the nose, but this is on the lighter side for a stout. Creamy coffee, oats, dark chocolate, and some faint mineral hops on the finish.
Mouthfeel is light, too much so for my liking.
Overall, this is not bad. Tasty enough, but it lacks body.

Dense camel hued head that resisted blowing. Aroma was a little shy, but mid-palate was toasty cocoa beans. Finish bore Ethiopian Yirgacheffe nuances. Viscosity was thirst quenching without appearing thin. This is not an uber-Oatmeal Stout, but a classy example of the style. A true quaffer. It was served at the perfect temperature, not too chilled + clean, room temp glass. Paired well with their Stone Cheeseburger Medium Rare, hand cut fries and house-made catsup. Tasted October 25th.

Nice dark color with a small tan head. Left decent lacing.
Smell is a bit weak. Doughy character is dominate with a bit of hops and sweet malt.
Taste is rather mild. No real sweetness from the malt and a light roasted barley flavor make this a rather bland brew. No off flavors and a clean finish save this one a bit.
My least favorite of the Standing Stone brews i've tried.
