I was born in Germany, and this is to my way of mind the perfect Pilsner.
Look: Like pure sunshine on gold. What do you want? It's a pilsner from Germany. Thick head which holds form beautifully.
Smell: Complex for the style, not really hops, but rich and inviting.
Taste: Clean, yet complex, and very crisp and pleasantly bitter. I love this beer in large part because it's so versatile- it goes with a late night fast food burger or haute cuisine, by itself, between other beers, or with a smoke. Is it always the best beer for a given situation? No. That doesn't exist. However, in every situation this is an excellent beer and a great choice.
Feel: For me, it feels like home. Drinking in my favorite bar in Homburg, long since closed, with my brother and best friend, and spending the evening talking about everything and nothing. For what you all want, probably just crisp and clean.
Overall: Again, this is a beer that goes with anything, it's versatile, and excels in that role. Highly recommend

Look: Pale straw yellow - a typical German pilsner color. There is good lacing and good to excellent head retention. The head never went away.
Smell: It's not strong on the nose. Sourdough bread. While nice hops is dominant in the flavor, I'm not sure why I couldn't smell it. Pleasant.
Taste: Nice German hops with a moderate bitterness for a pilsner. I get a taste of lemon in the background. Bready semisweet malt flavors come through as the palate adjusts to the bitterness, but the pleasant taste of the hops remains until the end.
Feel: Neither wet nor dry. Medium to light bodied for a pilsner.
I like this one, and it's a pretty good representation of the style.

Not a fan of Pilsners but this is one of the better ones. Very drinkable and sessionable. Bitterness adds to the enjoyment. Perfect for a summer night. Bested only by the offering from Weihenstephaner. Recommend pouring into a boot glass if available.

Pours a pale golden color with a bigger, stable white head.
Smells of garden herbs, caramel and some white bread dough.
Has a soft, liggt mouthfeel with a nice effervescent finish to it.
Tastes of bitter, dried lemon, together with dried weed and a caramel note. Turns lighter then, with a noteable mineralic burst, toning down the uprising malts effectivly, leaving the flavor‘s focus heavily on the hops. Finishes still pretty dry with more toffee malts cutting through.
Very straight forward, well working Pils with a fantastic bitterness to it, defining the beer‘s taste from the beginning till the end.

Clear straw color with moderate activity. Thick foamy and frothy white 3 finger head, lasting around 10 minutes, with decent legs and swirl effect. Flavors of cabbage, minerals, sweet grains, lemon, and floral hops. Slick full body with crispy carbonation. Light strength finish of grains and veggies, a bit flowery with some metallic notes. Light skunky feel with lots of sharp lager yeast. Probably too much minerals, a little unbalanced yet I tend to like the feeling in this one. High freshness and still nicely flavorful for a Pils. Overall very good quality craft.

From the tap, it poured a nice golden color with a sturdy, thick, large head. Hoppy bitterness in the nose. The flavor is somewhat bitter in the mouth. Enjoyable while eating a schnitzel!

500ml can - haven't seen this brewery 'round here since the Costco 'Advent' calendar of a few years past now.
This beer pours a clear, bright pale golden yellow colour, with two zaftig fingers of puffy, rocky, and somewhat creamy off-white head, which leaves some sudsy tree-top lace around the glass as it quickly blows off.
It smells of grainy and doughy pale malt, muddled citrus esters, sour aged lemon, a not so subtle gasohol astringency, and very plain earthy, leafy, and grassy noble hop bitters. The taste is gritty and grainy pale malt, some free-range generic cereals, still hard to pin down pome and citrus fruity notes, fading estery petrol, and more understated leafy, weedy, and dead grassy hoppiness.
The bubbles are average in their gentle and non-offensive frothiness, the body a decent medium weight, and more or less smooth, with a strange airy creaminess evolving as things warm up out of la frigo. It finishes off-dry, the lingering pale malt, near-dead gasoline, and still mixed grassy green hops landing as such.
Overall, a pretty plain and hard to really get into version of the style - there's nothing really going on here to make me sit up and take notice. Easy to drink, I suppose, on a summer's waning evening, but as noted, Imma gonna forget about this one all too soon, I guarantee it.

This is the beer brewed in my mom's hometown. I'm biased because I grew up drinking this stuff. Love it!
