Drank from the 500mL can in La Fortuna, Costa Rica of all places. The beer has a solid malty aroma or caramel and dark bread. Some brown sugar and even toffee are in there. Classic smell for a doppelbock. The taste is much the same, though it has some cola notes in the finish. The beer is a little subdued, and uses hop extracts. Thought there are no real hop notes to be found. A surprisingly drinkable brew. This is classified as a bock, but it could be a doppelbock. The label even lists "doppio malto" as one of the translations. I think it could be reclassified. As such it doesn't have quite the depth of flavor that many good dopes have, but it is drinkable, especially here in central America.
