This is a new brewpub on the block but it's already made quite an impression on me. In addition to the beers they brew on premises (their Up_RYE_sing and breakfast stout are both top-notch; the rest perfectly serviceable), Haven has an excellent list of 40 rotating taps, mostly seasonals and uncommon releases from great breweries; everything from doppelbocks to sours to 10%+ imperial stouts. They also typically keep several beers on cask (a welcome surprise), and have an equally impressive bottle list. The food's delicious if a bit expensive, and it's got the atmosphere of an upscale sports bar without any of the jocks. This is one of the linchpins of Pasadena's rapidly burgeoning craft beer environs.

Working in pasadena I stop here a few times a month. When I walked in the first thing I noticed was the nice horseshoe bar, and how clean the place is. It is very spacious inside with lot of seating.
The selection of beer is the best I've seen in the area, they have as many, if not more taps than lucky baldwins (which a visit a couple times a week) and a more extensive bottle list. They are also a brewery, with five or six of their own brews on tap.
The service is top notch, at least when you are seated at the bar. I haven't sat at a table yet. The bartenders are all knowledgable, and seem to truly love beer.
The food is where this place shines... They have a fantastic menu that rivals any fine dining restaurant in the Los Angeles area. The steaks, the seafood, the burgers and fries are all amazing, and their house made ketchup is unbelievable. I never thought I would be enthusiastic about ketchup, but it is that good.
I'd recommend this place to anyone. It's not cheap, but is not outrageously expensive. Try the 100 rubles, brewmasters breakfast, or Dianne brown ...
Great beers, made right there

I visited Haven Gastropub with my wife as we were in the Pasadena area with some time to kill before a graduation ceremony. The place is set up with lots of open space and bare metal and wood aesthetics. After we got seated and ordered some drinks and food, the service was pretty good but could have been better. They have an extensive list of beers on tap as well as a deep bottle list. Unfortunately, they were out of a few beers on their list and website but that was just a minor annoyance. The beers came in appropriate glassware and the quality of all the beers I tried was good. The food was good and I especially recommend the Pommes Frites. Prices here were on the high side of reasonable. Definitely worth a look if you are in the area.
