Slightly hazy, orange-golden color, with a one finger thick head, soon disappearing.
Aromas of ripe fruit, orange, grapefruit, apple, honey and melon, with bubblegum and hints of grass.
Malty, sweet beginning, followed by sublte toastiness. Hops need a good amount of time to punch in, but they hit the palate in a complex, moderate way, along with some fruitiness, which gets replaced by sweet, sugary malts, and hints of lemon peel. After this rollercoaster of flavors, the beer leads to a long malt supported, bitter finish. This is a medium to full bodied beer, slick, smooth mouthfeel, while carbonation is rather low, but fitting. Hints of alcohol become detectable for a glance, hiding behind the metallic carbonation and smooth yeast. Lacks a little bitterness, which seems to get overruled by the sweeter malts, only in the aftertaste, lemon peel and orange become noticeable. On the other hand, if I ever would have to correlate a creamy note to a Double IPA, it would be this, because it has such a smooth mouthfeel, resulting in an almost dough, creamy impression.

Got this one from the dudes at the Rooie Dop. Cheers gents!
From a bottle into a snifter
Bottled 29-05-2013
APPEARANCE: Pours a small, thicker looking, off-white head with good retention. Cloudy gamboge orange with lower levels of carbonation. A faint wisp remains leaving some sticky lacing down the glass. Good looking.
SMELL: Grapefruit and piney hops with some honeydew melon and caramel notes. Good stuff and plenty forthcoming.
TASTE: Pale malts, honeydew melon, some light grassy notes and then lots of pine at the swallow. Grapefruit, pine, grassy hops, some caramel sweetness and some melon flavors linger nicely on the palate. Quite bitter but some nice malty, caramel sweetness to balance the show. A more balanced brew than their 24/7.
PALATE: Medium-full body and medium levels of carbonation. Creamy on the palate, goes down smooth and finishes rather dry on the palate. Good, full feel here.
OVERALL: Great stuff. Not crazy bitter or anything, but this one shows wonderful balance between the bitter hop flavors and the sweet malt backbone. Very enjoyable and goes down dangerously easy. One of, if not the best DIPA to be brewed in Holland. Well done gents!
