The colour is black with a brown edge. The finger thick head is pale head. Some nice lacing.
The smell is loaded with coffee. Coffee with some sugar. Coffee coffee coffee.
The taste starts with dry coffee notes. Roasted, somewhat sweet notes. It is rather light. The coffee flavours becomes dusty and a bit frowsy after some time. Vegetables in the background, as well as a pleasant bitterness. Hints of alcohol. Some dusty roasted notes with smooth bitter flavours. Citric finish.
The carbonation is light, the bubbles small. The liquid is light and dry.
This beer is labelled as an “Imperial Stout”, but I cannot find anything imperial in this one. On the other hand, it is quite a nice English stout.

A blackish brown ale, a tan head, good lacing and good curtains.
Smelling of burnt toast and cold coffee, soy sauce and darkness.
The taste starts with dark rye bread, cold coffee, some dates and fermented blackberries, soy sauce.
Little carbonation, a soft and fresh texture, but a very dry finish.
A nice burned dry stout - but no empire here!
