Bottle from CBC in Waterbury two months ago, poured into tulip. Honestly, very full flavored. Almost smells/tastes imperial. Black, scant head.

L-The beer pours black with brown edges. The head is 2 fingers of tan foam which recedes to a thin ring leaving little lacing.
S-The nose is mostly roast coffee and a bit of chocolate.
T-The taste is a pretty well balanced mix of chocolate and coffee. One note, but a pretty good note in any case.
F-Mouthfeel is overall on the lighter side of medium. Carbonation is restrained.
O-An average porter. Not really outstanding in any aspect. It seems more of an American Porter than a Baltic Porter despite the name. Not a bad beer, but doesn't really stand out and make me want to go purchase more either.

12 oz. bottle poured into stemware.
Appearance: Pours a dark mahogany with a short coffee head. Some ruby color when held to the light.
Aroma: Dark chocolate, coffee, dark malts.
Taste: Follows nose. Lots of bitter chocolate. Some black coffee. A bit of booze burn.
Mouthfeel: A nice, sipping porter for a cold day. Not too thick, though. Balanced.
Overall: A classic porter that hits all the notes. Good stuff.

Poured into an English pint glass.
The appearance was a dark brown color with a finger's worth of tan foamy head that slid off at a fairly quick pace. Slight speckled sliding lace.
The aroma had a sweet to roasty blend of coffee, milk chocolate and dark chocolate playing with some sweet earthiness.
The flavor moderately presented a super nice gentle rolling cocoa powder sweetness that blended with a little bit of dark fruits, caramel malts and some dark bread. Mild sticky sweet cocoa powder to dark bready aftertaste.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied with a fair sessionability about it. Carbonation felt on par. ABV felt appropriate. The finish is absolutely awesome - as the way it rolled over my tongue with a gentle mature roasty smoothness like none other I have rarely felt with the Baltic Porter style (this was done exceptionally well).
Overall, though the mouthfeel was the best thing about this beer, the aromas and flavors carry over quite well too. Might be one of the best beers The Shed (Otter Creek actually) has ever put out. I'm looking forward to aging some of these.
