This has a classic stout look: very dark, with a big foamy head. The aroma is very roasty. The taste is roasted malts, with very mild poblano. Don't expect hot chile here; poblanos have plenty of flavor but little heat. The body is rather thin for a stout. Overall, it's a tasty stout, but the pepper character is just barely there.

Aroma is very muted. Palate is bitter, smokey, chile, flat. 80/100.

Smokey, stouty, earthy. Great smells of rich purports and smokey stout malts. No heat at all, just the distinct taste, like biting into a meaty chunk of poblano. Goes well with the smooth dark charter of an oatmeal stout. Better than I thought it would be. Will look for this when I want something a little different in the winter.

Had it from a can. Not too much hot chili sting , which is nice. In fact , you actually get some real chili flavor. Wish it had a bit more mouth feel, but this a very enjoyable beer that has a good finish and is not too sweet. Would buy it again.

Wonderful nose. Subtle poblano smell with no heat. Wish it had more pepper notes. Otherwise it's a good dark and smooth stout.

This is different than any other chile stout I've had, because you get actual vegetal, poblano flavor rather than hot spice.

16 oz can. Pours dark brown with a small creamy tan head that goes to a thin film and laces the glass some.

The aroma is roast malts, smoke and peppers.

The flavor is sweet lactic chocolate, roast, smoke and peppers. The mouthfeel is light to medium bodied and slightly watery.

Overall, a nice mild smokey pepper stout.
