i think they are calling this one "chill out". its really interesting. presentation is fabulous, it has a crushed candy cane rim and is served with a york peppermint patty. dark black and shiny, its got a frosty minty nose, definitely peppermint, cool and clean, refreshing and brisk. i think the peppermint is an excellent choice, any other mint would be strange. the stout is a cool medium, with nice roast and cocoa notes, its almost like chocolate peppermint bark you get at holiday time. its light enough to drink several of, but big enough to satisfy in winter weather. one of the more unique seasonals i have seen this year, i like it a whole lot. my one critique is that you really cant drink any other beer after this one. the mint lingers on the palate forever, like a piece of gum, and any other beer tastes pretty bad after it, like orange juice after tooth paste. that said, i happily made a session of this one, and look forward to my next pint. clever and well made, big choice appears to have improved in many ways.
