16 fl oz. can, no date on the bottom. Acquired the 4pk of this stuff from the local beer spot. A self-proclaimed "Belgian-Style American Pale Ale" so we'll see what we've got.
Poured to Brasserie D'achouffe stemware.
Pours a crisp golden orange IPA body, small finger of thick densely packed white foam head that leaves some good sticky spotty lacing behind. Some chill haze, appears adequately carbonated. Looks good.
Aroma is slightly subdued, but there is good musty Belgian yeast presence that takes the forefront, with slight underlying notes of clove, white pepper, and some bready American malt presence. A pleasant aroma, smells fresh.
Taste brings in more of the same: earthy Belgian yeast and accompanying fruitiness, slight spice rack notes, white pepper, but none are overwhelming, American honeyed biscuit malts, and some herbal leafy tea-like presence (Azacca hops?).
Smooth, crisp, clean. Exceptionally light-bodied & easy drinking stuff, with a modest abv.
Overall impressed by this offering from Solemn Oath, I'll admit I wasn't expecting much, but the combination of the Azacca hops and the Belgian yeast works well together. Something should be done about the beer's name however.

a light orange tint to this, frothy head from the tap, and a little haziness to it that suggests some wheat in the mash. they call it a belgian pale i think, and it is estery on the yeast, but to me its not real hoppy, unless of course all this orange essence i am picking up in nose and taste is from the hops, then its quite hoppy, but traditional hoppiness is mellow and there isnt a ton of bitterness to finish, either way this is more yeast driven than anything else for my palate. i like the yeast, its a cleaner belgian type made to taste and feel a little more saison-esque here with some warmer fermentation and a little phenol thing going on, an orange peel note and earthy toasted grains in support. i feel like the yeast is a little overpowering, even with the fuller malt profile, and i know thats the point, but it really runs over most everything else in the beer pretty completely. i do get a little more hops as it warms, but still firmly in that citrus range. faint vanilla and caramel sweetness underneath it all too, a white wine tease, and an herbal pop at the end. flavorful and fuller bodied beer, unique like so many of the beers these guys do are, and fun to drink on tap, but i wouldnt rank it among my favorite solemn oath beers. slightly heavy for the style and for this time of year. awesome name!

On-tap 2/18/2017 at Flynn’s in Mansfield, MA, served in a tapered pint glass.
A: The beer is a deep gold color, with a large off-white head that fades slowly and leaves a thick lace on the glass.
S: The aroma contains spices, Belgian yeast, caramelized malts, some hops and some citrus.
T: The taste starts out bready with flavors of Belgian yeast and a hearty malt character. Then some sweet flavors of caramel, spices and some citrus come in. The hops presence is mild but complementary and brings some balance. The after-taste is slightly bready and slightly sweet.
M: Crisp and a little smooth, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is slightly sticky.
O: A little tasty, goes down easily, not too filling, mild kick, good representation of style, this is a decent beer too drink for a while.
