Pours an amber to orange color with a foamy white head and tons of suspended solids floating around. Smells of citrus, pine, and sweet malt. Flavor consists of copius amounts of citrus, and sweet bready and caramel malt complimented by an equal amount of pine and juicy bitterness. Feel is again from one extreme to the other; intense sweetness followed by intense bitterness all wrapped up in a dense, rich and chewy concoction. Overall, this reminds me of an old skool east coast DIPA which I truly enjoy. Be prepared when you open this as it is unforgiving to the faint of heart. Cheers!

Picked up a bomber of this when I went on a mini vacation the last weekend of July with my wife and her family in Chicago. Poured into one of my tulip glasses, this beer pours a pretty clear, light to medium copper/amber color with numerous streams of little bubbles rapidly and continuously rising to the beer's surface. Has a slightly off-white head that's about 2/3 to 3/4 of an inch thick when first poured before settling after awhile to a solid 1/5 of an inch thick with good retention. Very nice lacing here. Aromas of slightly toasted, somewhat bready, caramel malts along with an earthy, piney hop presence along with some hints of mango and melon. The taste is pretty much the same, with a nice slightly toasted, somewhat bready, somewhat sweet caramel malt presence that gives way to a fairly piney and citrus, resinous hop bitterness with good hints of melon and mango. Has a fairly crisp, yet also somewhat smooth, slightly oily and sticky, medium bodied mouthfeel with moderate carbonation. Has a clean and somewhat dry finish. Easy to drink in the way well crafted beer ought to be. The 9% ABV is well masked here. Glad I got the chance to try this one.

Pours a clear golden yellow with minimal white foam.
Pine, resin, caramel sweetness, and very subtle citrusy notes.
Not much going on here in flavor, with a DIPA I expect big waves of flavor, but this seems more on par with an IPA. Very sweet and the caramel malt backbone is obvious. Overpowers subtle citrus, grassy, and pine notes.
Medium-bodied, low-medium carbonation, sweet, one-dimensional.
Overall, I've really enjoyed other DIPAs from Solemn Oath, but this one was a big swing and a miss.
