Had this a Solemn Oath. I'm a big fan of scotch ales and this barrel-aged one was very good. The aroma of the malt was caramel and nutty and the mouthfeel was nice and thick. The barrel aging really added to the aroma and all the smells worked well together. The taste really followed the smell and was warming. Overall this was a really good sipping beer to have on a cold night.

Had on tap. Blackish brown body, mushroom colored head, spotted lacing. Caramel, bourbon, molasses dipped dark nuts, peat, raisin, slight prune cocoa and earth all in the aroma bouquet. Taste adds toasty oak and char in a way that doesn't disturb the balance. Feel is malty, thick without being syrupy, warmth enough to invite to sip deeper and slower, with enough barrel character to show off without losing the style, earthiness rounds out. The wife loved it. Best SO beer I have ever had

One of the better bottled scotch ales I have tasted. Not too heavy, not too sweet, just right! It is do drinkable that I usually buy 6-8 bombers at a time. Probably would age well and improve further, but I never get around to putting any away for aging!
