Decent sized head constituted of large bubbles which dissipates quickly. It leaves ample spots. The liquid is appropriately cloudy with a green-dirty gold appearance.
Straight up black pepper nose. It's difficult to tease out any malt base. As the head subsides, I do note aromas of the yeast used, giving the beer a near Belgian smell.
The body is relatively neutral while the carbonation is elevated. The malt is present here but becomes dominated by the yeast bite and eventually the bittering hop takes over in the finish. Again, it's rather one-dimensional.

I've been pleasantly intrigued by the New England Pale Ales that have been coming out lately, as they've got the flavors and haze of an NEIPA without bashing you over the head with the hops or ABV. This one fell a bit wide of the mark. While refreshing, and with some light haze that makes the NE style look so good in a glass, the taste was nothing special. It felt more like a blonde ale or a Kolsch - I just wasn't getting much hoppiness or juice or anything else I'd expect from the style.
L: Medium haze; fine bubbles on the head
S: Malty, caramel smell - like you're walking into a brewery. Not getting much hops on the nose. Slight tropical fruit notes.
T: Refreshing, not much bite. Some maltiness but nothing syrupy. A bit of orange and other NEIPA fruit flavors.
F: Not getting that chewy, pulpy mouthfeel you expect from a New England, you know what I mean? Still thick, though; feels almost milky/creamy.
O: Again, a solid summer beer (with an awesome label). Wasn't what I was expecting from the style but still enjoyed it.
