In memory of a legacy tree representing the deep roots of the Naperville settlement and community. A beer over 250 years in the making. An imperial milk stout that was aged for 10 months in bourbon barrels on wood chips from this storied tree. The end result is a massively rich stout, full of chocolate, with a smooth warming finish and a hint of smoke. 16oz Single Can.
Brewed in collaboration with Miskatonic Brewing and Hop Butcher.

Had on tap. I loved the idea of this beer, "250 years in the making" that used wood from an old tree in the area. Even more so I loved the actual beer! Ashy black with grayish brown ring of foam. Smell is wood forward with some smoky char, dark chocolate, bourbon, and lactose malt. Taste is king here, with fantastic melding of the charactered and charred wood, dark chocolate, a matrix of wonderful bourbon laded malt work, and touches of roasted molasses, vanilla, raisin, coffee with creamer, and leather. All the while the body takes these rustic flavors and incorporates them into a creamy and highly drinkable feel. Really impressed with this one, very memorable, a great ode to the hobson oak tree. Had a glass from a second keg and not as good, perhaps the tree had different flavors in different spots. Score now a mean of both experiences
