Pours a dark brown almost black color. Completely opaque. Nice two finger mocha colored head dissipates steadily until a thick ring of foam remains on the outside of the beer with a thin layer covering the top of the beer.
Aroma has notes of cocoa, cinnamon, sweet rice pudding, and some subtle roasted malts. There is not much in the way of bourbon or barrel on the nose. Its nice, but I want more barrel.
Taste follows the nose with notes of slightly spicy cinnamon, cocoa, dutch chocolate, creamy vanilla and rice pudding notes and some roasted malts. Then at the back end of the beer, finally the barrel aging shows up with some light bourbon and oak and barrel notes. Its not prominent and is more of an afterthought, but its a really nice finish. I do like the overall flavors in this though - they really do a nice job of capturing the horchata aspect.
Feel is on the thinner side for a stout. It is very smooth. The carbonation is sprightly but overall pretty moderate. Semi-dry, almost powdery on the finish.
Overall its a nice stout. The barrel aging is a bit too subtle, but overall the flavors are good and capture the horchata really nicely.

Draft. Light lacing. Very light on horchata taste. Very sweet. Don't taste the alcohol at all.

Had on tap. Lighter black with a finger of brown foam. Smells like horchata, with a light bourbon underlaying and a secondary cocoa backing. Tastes exactly the same, really sells the flavors through the finish. Feel is smooth and slightly chalky, again really selling the adjunct message, I like it. Sure it is lighter, but that works for the vision
