Named in honor of our founder, John Barley, this behemoth American Barleywine is an unscalable mountain of sticky sweet malt magnificence. A mammoth melange of toffee, caramel, and candied prunes and the highest octane barleywine in the now ten year history of Solemn Oath.

From a 160z can, undated pours a nice reddish brown, pale reddish orange head lingers leaving a nicely laced glass. Nose is mostly toffee and fruits. Taste follows, sticky and sweet finish. Abv is well hidden. Nice body, good carbonation.

Semi-clear light brown pour with a tan cap. Caramelized dark fruit, golden raisin, barley, boozy molasses, oxidized caramel nose. Taste adds cranberry, perfumey floral and barley finish, cut molasses out, a fascinating flavor complexion, though a bit harsh on the finish. Feel is dry, thin but so much happening with barley and unique graininess. A barleywine that is different without gimmicks, though refinement would elevate it
