A 7.5% ale brewed with roasted and de-bittered black barley, dry-hopped with Simcoe for a piney, resinous aroma, and fermented with saison yeast for a spicy, fruity, earthy funkiness. We guarantee you’ve never tried a beer quite like this.
This special version was infused with Venezuelan Cocoa and Red Thai Chilis.

On-tap at Jake Melnick's. Served in a 'Reserve' glass.
A - Big tan foam with good retention settles to a thick cap and plenty of lace. Black body with a hint of brown at the edges.
S - Lots of fruity, piney, and floral hop notes, some cocoa, and a very odd bready chocolate-covered pretzel note. Chiles are definitely present, although they're not overwhelming.
T - The taste is less good, with soapy hop notes, roasted grains, and some odd vegetal chile notes. There's some sugary malt flavors as well - is there lactose in here?
M - Medium bodied, with a grainy, dry texture and moderate carbonation. Spicy finish with growing chile heat over time.
D - This started promising, but grew increasingly unpalatable the more it warmed up. I ended up pouring out the latter half of the glass. Just not a very good beer.
