These used to come in a variety pack, I dunno if they ever arrived at full fledged 6 packs or single bottle sales. Pours a muddled black and tan, first of all, it is kind of weird to have a black and tan, in the same bottle. Like, I could get a 6 pack of this stuff that is 3 bottles of each and you blend them. But pre-blended? Doesn't that take the most fun out of what a black and tan should be? I.e. watching the separation occur after the draft pours? I digress. Looks brown, lighter brown head 1/5". Aroma of roasted barley and not much else.
Taste, eh, definitely not a fan. There is a chalky dryness to it. The roasted malt has an acrid drying effect as well. Metallic bitterness. Some toffee, baker's chocolate and caramel notes, but far from enough impact to provide what should be a smoothed out experience. Very thin mouth feel for style. Alcohol seems a little pronounced for being only 5%. Not even a good introductory experience to black and tan. Pass.
