As I remember, this was actually a rather good ale. Very surprising considering I was living in Colorado back then and could get very good beer in every gas station on,the front range. I only had the one six pack. When I went back to get more, they were out for good. If only AB would try this hard more often.

The Notorious Budweiser Special X-Mas Brew. Aged lovingly in the garage where I work.(Thru many summers and winters) Poured by backfat into my snifter at CBS Release Party
A) Poured an amazingly clear Dark Mahoghany Brown color, with absolutely no foam, carbonation, bubbles,or anything else representing life in a beer. No lacing at all, but the caramel color was fantabulous.
S) This brew smelled of SCottish Ale remnants. And caramel...remnants. That is to say, if I were to smell a Scottish ALe, and then smell it again, say, thru a thick rag, or perhaps from 50 ft, it smelled just like that. A scottish ale that was 50 ft away.
T)Oh the taste. The Taste of this brew!!! Much like the smell, the taste of this beer was quite subdued. It did actually carry a bit of caramel sweetness to it, but it did not linger or last or even try to stay longer than my Mom In Law stays.
M) The mouthfeel on this beer was quite similar to water. Actually, exactly like water.
O) Overall, I was actually impressed. Not by this beer when compared to others, but impressed by this beer given it's own personal journey. Not a great beer by any means. In fact, it was deplorable. But it held it's own for a 16yr old beer that had been treated horribly.

Thanks backfat for bringing this one
Pours a murky yellow brown. Some small floaties. No head to speak of.
Smells rusty and oxidized. Malty. That's about it
Tastes like some malt in water. Maybe barley. Mostly earthy grossness. Thin bodied. Watery. Not very enjoyable
