11.2 oz. can, 2.5% ABV, Best Before: 09.21.23

AROMA: Medium scent of pomegranate with cherry and blood orange undertones. I also get a kind of chemical impression, throughout, that I find off-putting.

APPEARANCE: Pours a cloudy reddish-amber, with an incredibly tall, reddish-white, tightly frothy head that dissipates slowly with moderate lacing.

TASTE: It's moderately sweet with mild pomegranate flavor. Given its strong aroma I was really expecting something with more intense flavor. Instead, I get mild, pomegranate flavor with a hint of wheat on the finish.

MOUTHFEEL: Medium-bodied with slightly watery texture. Carbonation is about average.

OVERALL: Let's face it. With such a low ABV, this really shouldn't be classified as a beer. I wouldn't even classify it as a Radler/Shandy. It's more like a fruit juice with a splash of beer. Which wouldn't be so bad if it was tasty fruit juice. However, the flavor is a little too subdued for my tastes (no pun intended). For me, this one is a no-go.

 

Smells and tastes like a slightly malty carbonated juice. Low abv, sweet fruity flavor. Does not look, taste, or smell like a beer. It's too sweet to be refreshing. Not the kind of beer you give to a beer lover... more like the kind of beer you give to a cosmo drinker. The pomegranate is more sweet than sour, and not unlike a sweetened cranberry juice. The fruit overwhelms the hefeweizen taste completely. I did enjoy drinking it but would not purchase again. I recommend this for anyone looking for something juicier and sweeter than a hard seltzer, not to a beer nerd. (birthday gift from Carrie and Erik)

Slightly hazy pink, with slight orange tint, and one finger of light pink head.

Smell is pomegranate and a fresh crackery malt aroma.

Taste is essentially pomegranate/cranberry soda. Very slight artificial sweetener aftertaste. Light bitterness.

Feel is light and smooth, initially, with moderate , fairly soft carbonation tingle coming in halfway through.

Overall, enjoyable enough. Probably good on a hot day. If you're looking for a hefeweizen, with some fruit flavor, this isn't it. None of the usual yeast and spice elements are present. Drinks more like "natural" soda, that is, carbonated fruit juice. Doesn't seem like beer at all. That said, I'd much rather have this than a hard seltzer or wine cooler.

Poured at fridge temp. Pours a nice pink with very light pink head. Nose is pomegranate! Maybe a bit of wheat, but it's dominated by the fruit for sure. Maybe a bit of bread. The taste follows the nose. Nice sweet pomegranate. Nice carbonation. Definitely comes across more as a fruit juice with some alcohol, but I also happen to love pomegranate, and I just got back from a run! So, I'm loving this. I do get a bit of wheat, but not much else. It is what it is!

Look: One finger head, reduces to thin slighly pink layer. Dark pink color
Smell: Strong pomegranate aroma with hint of yeast.
Taste: Pomegrate hits you right away. No bitterness, lacks the tartness of pomegranate juice. The finish reminds me of a sweet wine.
Feel: Good carbonation. Flavor stays on tongue after swallowing.
Overall: A very enjoyable after-dinner bier when you want something sweet.
This is my first time with this style amd it won't be my last.

 

12 oz bottle poured into a tulip pint glass. Smells and tastes like sweet pomegranate juice with a beery aftertaste. Juuuust a bit artificial-tasting, but overall refreshing and nicely carbonated. Not something I'll seek out again, but pretty good for a low-abv beer.
