22 oz bomber purchased from Trader Joe in Salem OR $4.99 Deep amber coloured ale with a nice sized beige coloured head. Pretty piney/spruce hop nose on this but the toffee/treacle dark malts are noticed. A little fruit as it warms. Taste is very well balanced..getting the spruce but a bit of dark fruits and slight licorice and marmalade. Mouth feel is good and easy..though not thin. Nice assertive Pale Ale for the winter.

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a medium coppery amber with a fine one finger ivory head with great retention and lacing. Aroma of caramel and grainy malt, piney, grassy and citrus hops. Flavor is mild caramel and lightly biscuit malt, citrus and grassy hops, lemon citrus with a little light tropical fruit, finishes with a combination of citrus and continental style dry grassy hops. Medium bodied with light creaminess. Delivers on its promise, a hybrid of English bitter malt and hops and a domestic malt and hops profile appropriate for an American pale ale. And it works pretty nicely. The lemon citrus brightens the drier English hops and the malts play well with each other. There are moments in the taste where there is distinct English bitter qualities and then some American hoppiness. A unique take on a pale ale and well done, as expected from Gigantic. I admire these guys for being able to consistently pull off new ales (with only a handful as standards), push the envelope a little and yet score with some really well done beers. Kudos.

Bronze orange and a bit hazy, with thin head, clingy head. Nice nose displaying malt, floral, and citrus. Flavor bridges British and American styles beautifully, while leaning distinctively towards contemporary American style. This is a beer that grows in you as you drink....it's just solid and well crafted.

Because of this beer's name, I decided to put on some Bowie. Deep, hazy, orange brew with a thin head. Streak lacing. Mild aroma of citrus, fruit and malt. The flavor is bright. Orange, berries, caramel malt, fresh grass and pine. Medium body with a resinous and juicy finish. The dark amber color and big hops presence, the solid malt base. What more could you ask for from such a beer? A very good winter APA.
