Pours a dark deep black..obsidian, unfathomable darkness..great creamy tan head.
Aromas.dark chocolate, toasted oats. turkish coffee and an earthiness
Taste at first dark chocolate..then getting some cream and then cocoa nibs..finishes off with earth and a bit of ash. Great.
Mouth feel is actually on the thin side of medium..carbonation low and smooth.
Very nice Thanksgiving beer

Pours a dark brown with attractive mahogany where the light comes through the edges. Some swirls of foam in the chalice. This is kind of sweet, but spicy too. Actually, the cola flavor stevepat mentions is right on. There's no burnt taste. It's more like a Baltic Porter than any Stout.
Warm caramel and a touch of raisin. Hints of coffee. This is an interesting dark brew that strays from the Oatmeal Stout roots and certainly is not like any American Imperial Stout I've ever encountered. Pleased to meet another anomaly. From the 500 ml bottle purchased in northern Washington.

True to the name, it pours a deep deep black. No head to speak of but the edges of the glass appear to give off a plum like hue.
Smell is mildly roasty, quite unassuming.
Taste leads with a roasty/coffee bitterness before waltzing into a cola sweet/spicy main attraction before slipping into a clean grainy finish like a fresh cold biscuit. Tastes like a beer that would make a great beer bread.
mouthfeel is pleasantly smooth. thinner than the 'imperial' in the name implies to me but very pleasant anywho.
Overall this is a nice stout that really grew on me over the course of the bottle. I think that it would benefit from being a bit warmer than fridge temp but it's odd cola spice note turned out to work for me after being a bit off putting at first sip
