Inspired by the enigmatic John Mallett of Bell's Brewery, this festive IPA is loaded with the dankest, sticky, drippy, and piney hops the Gigantic brewers could get their hands on.

It pours a dark orange/brown with a nice 2 to 3 finger head that is off white. Its aroma is more like a Red Ale than an IPA, other than the hop smell. It is definitely an IPA, and the hop taste reflects its 85 IBU's. Though it is bitter it doesn't seem to have much bite which is great. The hop flavor profile is piney with a slight citrus and malt taste. 85 IBUs Rated 12-11-2021

Taster at Loyal Legion. Medium to dark amber, small ring of head. Aroma is litter box (yea I get the name), spruce. Taste too, Dank, piney, and a touch of ammonia. The name says it all. Bit its actually quite good..

Have had this beer before and don't recall it being this lackluster. In any event, on tap at the Beer Tap Reserve today
The beer pours a copper amber color with poor head retention and very light lacing. Hey, just because a beer doesn't look all that great.... Except I'm not getting a whole lot on the nose either. Maybe there's a hint of malt and dry citrus, but that's it. On the palate the beer is much better, but is still no great shakes. It's pretty malt forward, but with some light pine and light sweet citrus on the finish. Tastes like maybe there's some holiday spices as well. The finish is actually fairly dry and bitter, which is the only thing that makes this drinkable. Mouthfeel is fairly full, with a long, bitter finish. Drinkability isn't terrible, but this isn't a beer I'd want to drink more than one of.
I had this beer some years ago at the Parkway in Tacoma, but this drek tastes nothing like that. I can only assume that Gigantic changed up the recipe, as this is not a particularly good beer and is nothing like the BA description (there is nothing dank in this beer). Oh well...

Look: Opaque amber in color with a dense-looking off-white head that quickly builds and holds as a pillow, leaving good lacing behind as it recedes
Aroma: They weren’t kidding with the bottle description. Cannabis, pine sap, diesel, mixed berries, light sweet onion, fruity weed-like terpenes, and sweet malt
Taste: Follows the nose well but everything is very magnified. Intense pine-led conifer that tastes like chewing on fir needles and pine pitch. Cannabis starts to pick up steam as berry and light onion notes weave in and out and fruitiness and malt are present throughout but definitely second fiddle to the pine/dank assault. Closes with more pine and herb along with a hefty and old-school-esque hop bite
Mouthfeel: Full, lightly slick, medium-high carbonation, and moderately dry on the finish
Overall: This is awesome. I’ve always loved the ‘dank’ component in hops and dig that several breweries make an IPA from time to time labeled as such too as I’ve enjoyed them all like I did with this. A total Cannabis and conifer bomb with a classic WCIPA level bite and with plenty of malt backbone as well. I love the name too as it always gets me to chuckle and if you like dank IPA’s or that overall flavor/aroma profile, try this out and you won’t be disappointed

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a medium to dark coppery amber with a fine, one finger off-white head with great retention and thick lacing. Aroma of caramel malt with light biscuit, piney, citrus and dank hops, orange and lemon. Flavor is biscuit and lightly caramel malt, dank, grassy and lightly piney hops, hay, lemon and a little pine needle. Finishes with piney and dank hop bitterness. Medium bodied with light creaminess. I was expecting more of a pine and cat pee assault, but this is somewhat more mellow, actually closer to a robust English IPA in the dominant grassy hops. There is definitely some pine and cat notes here, but as intense as the great name suggests. A nice, full bodied malty and hoppy IPA that is somehow appropriate for the season. Great evocative name. Looks, smells and tastes good.
