We love the intensity of the citrusy and juicy IPA’s we’ve been brewing, but we wanted to take it up a bit for the warmer weather. So we added just a touch of tangerine and pineapple. We think the interplay of hops and citrus fruit is gorgeous and delicious.

Just a slight haze in the amber brew, and tall, thick foam in the IPA glass. Aroma of orange, tangerine, and some lime in the nose. It does taste like tangerine, and bitter grapefruit. The mouthfeel is tangy but not overly acidic.

Overall this is a fruity and interesting variation on hoppy beers, but there's a little too much citrus pith. The bitter finish lingers along with a mineral and seedy taste. Such beautiful foam, though! From the 500 ml bottle purchased at the beer store in the far Northwest.

Sampled from draught at Borefts 2019. Pours a hazy amber color and a white head with lacing. Aroma's: nice big citrus, zesty, light resin. Retronasal there's more resin, but also still citrus zest and some sweet fruit. Flavor is moderate sweet'n'bitter, light fruity. Medium bodied. Finishes with light bitterness.

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a lightly hazy, copper amber with a fine, one finger white head with good retention and solid lacing. Aroma of mildly caramel malt, citrus, tropical and dank hops, orange, pineapple, lemon, mixed tropical fruit. Flavor is mild caramel malt, citrus and tropical fruit hops, orange, tangerine, lemon, grapefruit, vague mixed tropical fruit. Finishes with citrus rind and a slight mineral note; mild to moderate bitterness. Medium bodied with light creaminess. Gigantic let me down with the newest Hellboy offering, which was a sour, not my style. I consoled myself with this IPA. Unfortunately this was a hybrid between a citrus forward IPA and a tropical hazy, and although the fruit mix is quite nice, it finishes with a typical hazy IPA modest bitterness, which leaves the fruit flavors stark and less interesting to my taste. Meh, OK, but not my style.

Citrus IPA
500ml bottle from Fred Meyer in S.Salem. OR.
$3.99
Pours a semi hazy deep burnished orange. Like Dundee marmalade. Lovely frothy/creamy large crème coloured head.

Deep semi sweet citrus abounds..marmalade oranges, tangerines and lemon peel.
Taste very similar to the aroma..very balanced and not too sweet..nice bitterness throughout.
Great soft carbonated mouth feel..easy drinker but far from boring.

Overall a nice beer for under $4
