The beer is about five months old, this getting old for this style. The beer is 42 degrees and served in a nonic. The pour of the beer produced a two-fingered head that is airy, billowy, and creamy. The color of the beer's head is off white, not yet ivory. The retention of the head is excellent, with lacing clinging to the glass. The beer's color is pale gold with amber yellow hues charting around SRM 5. Carbonation bubbles are dancing from the bottom to the top. The beer is unclouded and bright. The overall appearance of the beer is excellent for this style.
The initial aromas in the beer are oranges, mangos, pineapples, and floral esters. Nosing the beer further, I get bread, toasted crackers, malty sweetness, a touch of resin, and bay leaves,
The flavors of the beer are oranges, caramel, mangos, pineapple, papaya, resin, bandaids, earthiness, bread, toasted crackers, malty sweetness, lemon, floral, a touch of a musty dank basement, and toasted malts.
The mouthfeel of the beer is crisp, clean, and soft.
The body of the beer is medium, low carbonation, and a medium-plus finish.
The age does show in the beer, but I am not going to dock points for that. I did drink this beer fresh. The beers age manifests a mellowing of the hop profile and a touch of dankness. The beer is a solid hazy IPA, but I wanted more depth. This is the reason why it took me so long to rate this beer. A solid B, for this beer.
