Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a light golden amber with a big, fine three finger white head that dissipates very slowly leaving thick lacing. Aroma of pale and lightly biscuit malt, citrus and grassy hops, mixed grain and lemon; a little spicy. Flavor is biscuit and bready malt, grassy hops, a hint of honey, lemon, grapefruit and hay. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess, nice mouth feel. They really delivered on the name in this one. The malt is solid pilsner style and the hops, despite supposedly being Citra, have a great grassy flavor that would be expected from a noble hopped Bohemian pilsner. There is, however, fine Citra notes in the citrus component of the hops. Not exactly to style, but warns us ahead of time that it's not a continental hopped ale. I don't drink pilsners much any more, and this fresh take on one was appealing to me. I'm a fan of Citra, and this delivered. Where did the grassiness come from? Really nice body to the malt. Enjoyable.
