Tierra del Stout

Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing opaque in the glass with a two finger khaki head with great retention and solid lacing. Aroma of dark toasted malt, chocolate, cinnamon and a little hot pepper heat. Flavor is dark toasted malt, Mexican chocolate with cinnamon, light vanilla and light chili pepper flavor and light burn that intensifies in the finish, but is at a modest level. Medium bodies with light to moderate creaminess. I grabbed this because I haven't had anything from Gigantic for a while and love Mexican chocolate in stouts. I didn't realized until I poured it that it had hot peppers; which were faintly noticeable in the pour. The chocolate character is quite authentic and the pepper level is perfect in to my taste, mild at first, building up in the finish, but never overwhelming the other flavors. Tame by chili pepper beer standards, it makes an enjoyable stout. I really enjoyed this one.
