Darker and richer than the czars' estates! Aged for over two years in rum barrels and infused with luscious coconut, this imperial stout is the epitome of decadence.

500 ml bottle into a snifter. A 2023 release, had 12/13/24.
Pours near black and opaque, with no head and no lacing. Aromas of rum, coconut, chocolate, roasted malt, some oak, a little vanilla and smoke. Flavors of rum, malt, some chocolate and coconut, a little vanilla. Smooth, a very good full body, appropriately carbonated.
Has a great aroma, but the flavor doesn’t quite match it. Still, this is very good and certainly enjoyable.

Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing nearly opaque in the glass with a thin khaki film head that dissipates to sparse patches with slight lacing. Aroma of dark toasted malt, toasted malt, coconut, dried plums and rum. Flavor follows with dark toasted malt, dried plums, raisins, rum and light toasted coconut. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess and moderate carbonation. Not unexpectedly, this was very reminiscent of the Rum Barreled version without the coconut. The fruitiness of the rum seems to give this a barleywine-like profile, dominating the deep dark stout malt. There is a light coconut note and it adds to the flavor of rum as expected. Although it's fruitier than expected, it's got a nice flavor profile., almost like a stout / English barleywine blend.
