Look: Ruby-red in color and looks brown in the glass with a lofty khaki head that settles to a lid and leaves nice lacing behind
Aroma: Freshly baked bread, toffee, fruity esters, toasted bread crust, light earthy hop notes, and caramel
Taste: Opens up with rich bready malt, fruity esters and sweet caramel that hit like a caramel-drizzled piece of toast with a side of fresh cut apples and ripe pears. Toasted crust starts to leak in along with earthy hops that do well to balance the sweet malt brigade and closes with bread, toffee, earthy notes, and fruitiness
Mouthfeel: Full, soft, smooth, medium-high carbonation, and soft and smooth on the finish
Overall: This is some tasty stuff. The can art drew my attention to this Irish Red and being that style as well as being brewed by these folks, made the purchase decision simple. It’s a delicious and well-made example that has nice multilayered malt depth and enough hop character to balance, plus the typical smooth feel that I dig. Recommended
