Poured on tap into a snifter glass at the brewpub.
A nice one finger creamy tan head presented, with lots of staying power as well. Real nice indian red colored body, and hints of mahogany brown edges as well.
Nose fills with a real nice sweet light cream and vanilla sensation on first whiff. Some nice matching light toasty aromas of brown bread crust, with a crackery light quality. Some interesting nutty pine nut sensations as well, with a mild sweetness of fruited raisins and soft cherry. Very nice.
Real mellow palate. Fruit and dark figgy juice quality with some hints of caramel and light sweet candy toffee. Hints at nutmeg and clove, with a light body texture that still carries the malt depth and thickness. Real light drinking and masking the abv very nicely
Overall a style I am extremely picky about but they did quite good on this one.
