On tap at brewery:
This beer is listed as a "Belgian Bruin" at the brewery, which might be a straight brown (versus "Oud" tart version??).
This beer pours a fairly clear to hazy brown, with a decent head and a bit of lacing. The nose is actually a bit smokey to me. That and a general woodiness, a hint of berry, and the slightest Belgian funk.
Taste follows nose, with a woodiness that pervades the taste, into the end, where it seems to dry the palate. There is a bit of indistinct berry-like fruit in the taste.
The beer is a halfway decent dry beer, but is not what I was expecting (to reiterate, expecting an Oud Bruin). As such not sure how to rate. Going to rate in the current Oud style, which is more of a fail than the beer actually is. I'd give it a 3.67 straight rating.

Brown glass bottle. 2013 trademark label. Unbranded hood-and-wire cap over a cork served into a tulip in Castle Rock, Colorado. Reviewed live as an oud bruin per the label.
$10 USD. 5.4% ABV.
No bubble show forms as it's poured.
HEAD: 1 finger wide head. Retention is great - about 5 minutes. Creamy, thick, full, and coating. No lacing sticks to the sides of the glass as the head recedes.
BODY: Dark copper-brown. No yeast particulate or hop sediment is visible.
Overall, it's a generally appealing appearance for a sour. Not unique or special, but attractive.
AROMA: Belgian brown malts, cream, vague muted fruit, and quite time sourness - a 1-2/10 in terms of intensity at best. Restrained acetic pie crust character.
No yeast character, alcohol, or hop notes are detectable.
TASTE: Belgian brown malts, very light muted sourness (~1-2/10 in intensity at best). Cream. It's a bit insipid, actually; I'm not getting much in terms of flavour. Average depth, duration, and intensity of flavour. Quite plain. Not complex/intricate, subtle, or nuanced. One of the blandest flavour profiles for an oud bruin I've come across.
TEXTURE: Smooth, wet, medium-bodied, aptly thick, well-carbonated, and creamy. It's a bit stale. Not a great complement to the taste.
Not oily, gushed, hot, boozy, astringent, harsh, scratchy, rough.
OVERALL: Downable but underwhelming. Hides its ABV decently. I'll finish the glass, but this is largely a forgettable sour. Meh.
