On tap at the brewery. Pours black with a khaki head. The aroma is much more IPA than stout, full of citrus and tropical fruit. The flavor has a hint of roastiness, which is quickly buried by a wave of citrus, pine, and tropical fruit. Overall, I think that it's a great, but misnamed beer. It's not a hoppy stout, it's a black IPA.

On tap at bluejacket, pours a dark brown with a light tan head that laces all over the glass.
The nose is all roast, a little earth note, dark malt, some peanut and chocolate. I don't get distinct hop characteristics in the nose, but in the taste, definitely. More roast and nut, but also some pine, a little pepper, earthy, and maybe coffee? Not sure if they added it, but I get espresso.
A bit light for a stout, but it's July, so fits right in. Pretty good.

Draft at the source.
Dark brown chocolate body with a thin ring of beige cap. Lots of roast in the nose. Smooth with a present but unobtrusive hop character. Solid.
