(Notes)
The beer pours a nice dark tan head that dissipates fairly quickly. The beer itself is a very nice black with a dark brown hue color to it.
The smell has a rich toffee note with a roasted malt note and a light cocoa note at the front. There is also a more subtly fruity and herbal hop note that complements the roasted stuff well. The taste has a stronger toffee note and roasted malt note compared to the smell and there is more of a roasted bitterness too.
The beer is medium bodied with a slight bit of heft. It's smooth with some biting carbonation and a slight stickiness to it.
Overall, it was a fairly interesting and nicely complex beer worth getting or at least trying.
