We took the intense vanilla, milk chocolate, peanut butter & sea salt flavor of Caribou & turned it up for this release. The imperial stout base is a blend of beers that spent 12 months in Buffalo Trace & Jim Beam bourbon barrels, The result is a rich, decadent brew with big fudgy flavors and swirls of creamy vanilla & peanut butter.

750 ml bottle, thanks to my friend Denis for this brew! Served in a snifter, the beer pours dark brown/black with about a half inch brown head that fizzled away quickly. Not much lacing, either. I like the aroma a lot, the brew smells like peanut butter, vanilla, cocoa, bourbon and roasted malt. Taste is similar to the aroma, it's mostly sweet with peanut butter, vanilla, salt, bourbon, oak, cocoa, burnt/charred malt and molasses flavors. There's a lot going on here, but in a good way! Barrel character is noticeable but not strong, I think all the sweet flavors in the brew overpower the barrel somewhat but that's not a complaint here. Mouthfeel/body is full, it's creamy, slick and rich with a moderate amount of carbonation. If you're into sweeter tasting and/or barrel aged imperial stouts then I recommend this one, I liked it a lot!
