Glee is unabashedly classic. Inspired by our British forefathers. Brewed with local Virginia malt from Murphy & Rude Malting Co. and a gentle touch of Challenger, Fuggle & East Kent Golding hops.

Five inches of loose, off-white foam is far too much. Thankfully the head turns rocky, settling to a thick seafoam over a few minutes, although it never fully dissipates. The beer is almost clear, with a tint of old gold (SRM 3-5). Lots of carbonation is no surprise. Patches of sticky lace remain on a Harp nonic glass.
The aroma is initially similar to Juicy Fruit gum with a fair amount of pizza dough and herbs. Once the head settles down, the aroma is dominated by soap. Warmth, thankfully, adds notes of pear.
The flavor is quite bitter, with a ton of dusty grains. Sweetness builds in the background, with floral honey and, again, pear, as it warms. The finish is long and mild.
A medium body and watery texture. Alcohol is far more noticeable than expected, although not strong. Carbonation is fizzy and a little metallic.
This one improved after about ten minutes, still nothing special. I had expected something quite different from the style and was still happy to have tried it.

5 oz pour at the brewery. Bready malt with a hint of sweetness. Kiss of earthy/floral hops. Smooth mouthfeel. This is a simple beer and while I typically am not a fan of cask beer, I would be interested to have this one in the cask version.

A: The beer is hazy amber yellow in color and has a light to moderate amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a quarter finger high off white head that left a thin layer covering the surface, a narrow collar around the edge and some lacing down the sides of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of fruity yeast are present in the nose along with notes of pale malts and floral hops.
T: The taste follows the smell, except that the flavors of floral hops are stronger and also contribute a light amount of bitterness.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied and "chewy" on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This English Blonde Ale is a refreshing change of pace; I enjoyed its fruity aromas and flavors of yeast.
