Sticke Altbier brewed with our friends at Bierstadt Lagerhaus. Briefly rested in our coolship & lagered for nearly 12 weeks. Finally dry-hopped with Hersbrucker. Notes of fig bread, malt candy & herbal hop bitterness.

On tap at Churchkey in Washington, DC.
This one pours a nice golden amber color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.
This smells like spicy and floral hops, with some orange marmalade, toasted bread, and chocolate.
This appears to be an homage to Uerige Altbier, which is a beer that I adore. It’s got a lot of malty goodness here – sticky sweet caramel and bitter dark breadiness, with some light chocolate. But there’s also a really nice floral and spicy hop bitterness, and even a bit of like candied orange flavor – maybe that’s the name of the beer influencing my palate, but it does seem to be there.
This is medium bodied, and very drinkable, with a nice smooth and creamy finish.
This was fantastic – I’m really happy to see something like this made by an American brewery.
