This is an India Brown Ale. Growler was filled at the brewery. Pours a light golden brown/burnt orange. Nice slightly off-white head of about 2 fingers that leaves great lacing patterns down the glass. The smell consists of hop notes--grassy, spicy, and a little bit of a floral aroma. Also picking up some of the malts -- toast/caramel. The taste is an excellent hop/malt combination. Great fall seasonal for hop lovers that want something with a little more heft. Caramel notes from the malts combine with some spice flavors from the hops. Somewhat spicy/bitter finish. Mouthfeel is smooth and a bit more substantial than your typical IPA. Overall a very enjoyable fall seasonal. I'm looking forward Cajun Moon being a fall staple year after year. This is the first time I have seen a hybrid style like this -- combining a brown ale and an IPA. And the results are quite good.
