Opaque reddy-bronze with a modest but solid looking off-white head that falls quietly with some nice raised lacing.

Candied tangerine and pineapple leavened by drier, sharpish herbal grassy notes. All very well in check.

Less tropical fruit than the nose, with the dry herbal bitterness steadily gaining ascendancy.

Light, although quite oily body with buzzy carbonation. Moderately bitter, but aggressively dry finish.

Very well proportioned Belgian IPA. Not sure what yeast this used, but its dry as opposed to sweet character really works.

330ml bottle, thanks to ADZA, into a Brooklyn snifter.

Murky, dull, orangey/amber colour to it. Off-white foam that laces okay, and retains just as well there too.

Smell to start with is fruity belgian yeast. After a while, and i took a while, it changes to fruit salad aromas of lychee, mango and pineapple as they gradually start to creep in.

Taste is a mix of citrus and fruity yeast flavour. Initially i thought it strayed too far over the belgian side of things, but after waiting it seems to come back a bit to towards an IPA.

Soft, lower carbonation, decent bodied. It seems to work out alright with some citric bitterness late keeping it pretty sessionable and working well with the belgian yeast.

Enjoyable attempt at the hybrid style. Not amazing, but nice to drink. Didn't think that much of the Pale Ale from these guys, but after the mid strength red and now this, i'm starting to turn in favour. Good to see some other brewers (than Feral) in WA churn out some okay stuff.

On tap at the WA Tap Takeover at Great Northern. From notes.

A - Poured a hazy/murky dark gold. Light carbonation, one finger of white head. Good spattering of lace and film of retention.

S - Orange dominated, light wheat, not much there.

T - Wheaty, orange, some sweet spice, grassy. More of a Belgian pale ale flavour. Orange marmelade flavours came out.

M - Really strong carbonation, light body, dry finish. Carbonation was too much.

O/D - Nothing to exciting. Don't think this is too much like a Belgian IPA. Not bad, just really average and not enough IPA character.
