2018 bottle: Veiled and slightly hazy dark amber color, almost copper, with low activity. Creamy dark beige 2 finger head, lasting around 10-15 minutes, with thick legs and good swirl reaction. Flavors of plums, raisins, berries, grapefruits, dark barley and wheat, toffee, with herbal hops (new england types). Creamy and oily medium body with a light crisp. Medium to strong strength finish, dominantly leafy and caramely, dark fruits and malts, some brown sugar and sugar cane. Feels like a cross IPA and barleywine, the result is interesting and different but nothing stellar. The body is a bit too dull and oily. The freshness is decent and the alcohol well hidden. Good balance and complexity. Overall very good quality craft.
