The liquid is clear; the colour is gold (15 EBC), The three finger head is off-white and compact, it sinks down leaving some fine lacing.
The smell is mild. Hops, some of them citric. Honey. Wort/cereals. It is quite sweet with some hints of sweet vegetables (chickpeas?) and milk.
The taste is semi-sweet, it is much cleaner than the dark ale from the same brewery. English hops dominates the flavours: Hay and flowers. Pleasant malty flavours, reminding more of an ESB than an APA. Mild to medium bitterness, medium body. The bitter flavours grows in the aftertaste. Notes of hay and crispbread. Some alcohol and English dry-hopped flavours. The finish is sweet like milk.
The carbonation is medium to light; the bubbles large. The liquid is medium smooth.
A pleasant ale, it is like an English bitter with some new world hops added.

A: Pours clear golden with a compact rather short white head. Decent lacings.
S: Rather mild in smell, but there is a metallic off-smell (reminds me of that from Altbiers). Malt, only a little sweet. Bitter hops are the strongest smell, but way in the back you can sence citric notes.
T: Better than the smell, both American very dry bitter hops but also pine needles and grapefruits from the floral hops. The caramell malt is not very sweet.
M: Long lovely bitter and bone-dry aftertaste. Body is medium while carbonation is on the milder side.
O: Not bad, very bitter but still the American floral hops are not hidden. Perhaps the malt is a bit underbalanced.
