Went to the brewery in Casco Viejo, Panama City on a vacation to Panama. Pleasant surprise. Quality beers, though as others have noted they are putting out a conservative selection of basic styles. Excellent food, very friendly and attentive staff. Beautiful place and great ambiance. Bottled beer to go sold on site as well. Definitely worth stopping in for a snack or dinner and a couple brews.

Light beers for a hot day, not a huge selection. Great pizza.

Located in Casco Viejo in Panama city, La Rana Dorada is arguably the most popular craft beer brewery/pub in Panama. They have 4 year round beers: Pale Ale, Premium Pils, Blanche, And Porter.

I will concentrate in my experience in one of the pubs and in the general beer quality.

My first experience in La Rana Dorada was in one of its Pubs, Located in Via Argentina, I instantly loved it, bunch of tourists and friendly and welcoming employees, only observation the bar tenders and the rest of the employees lack a ton of knowledge about beer in general, they barely know what were they selling themselves, using scripted explanations of the beers they were giving to us.

I had the opportunity to meet Mr. Kraus, brew master of La Rana Dorada, I can Tell that he is a man with tons of experience and knowledge but suffers from the same syndrome other Brew Masters in Panama do, Being afraid of experimenting, only brewing the standard in an effort to please the majority and make more money.

The beers: To be honest I enjoyed all of the beers, They were not outstanding but they were above average but all of them but being painfully "Normal" with the exception of La Rana Porter which had that smokey flavor I love in certain beers (thou very soft) but also included a nice spicy after taste that I enjoyed.
