Served a pint on tap at the downstairs bar at Wildwood. Color is very dark, but not as "black" as Guinness, no head, just a little foam around the edge of the glass. Smells of honey sweetness and some cocoa or chocolate. Light flavour, nothing overpowering, with a mix of honey sweetness and more cocoa/chocolate mirroring the aroma. Smooth and creamy, a little thin, but not watered down. Easy drinking beer from Wildwood, a nice halfway point between the full bodied Elusive Trout Stout and bitterness of their Red.

I think this would be Jim Anderson's attempt to woo a more female palate over to the house beers brewed at the Wildwood. It is sweet and chocolatey after all, although it's sold under the guise of a honey ale.
Was served a deep cola red hue when held to the light, a deep dark mahogany otherwise, with no head to speak of that I saw. A sweet nose from the very start, a chocolate presence is definitely discernable. Light wheat flavour to begin with, with sweet honey appearing in the middle, and dark chocolate on the finish. The mouthfeel is smooth, but somewhat watery.
Halfway down the glass I found this Honey Ale almost too sweet to finish. It was pretty good for what it is, but I found it far too sweet for my personal liking, there was nothing in the mix to balance that out in any way. A dream come true for those who like sweet flavours, easy drinking beers, and chocolate I have to admit.
