22 ounce bottle into snifter; no bottle dating, but is a recent release. Pours lightly hazy deep orange/amber color with a 2 finger dense and rocky off white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a good amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of honey, wheat, toasted biscuit, nutty coffee, golden raisin, plum, pear, apple, herbal, grass, and yeast/toasted earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of bready malt, coffee, and light-moderate fruity yeast/earthy hop notes; with good strength. Taste of honey, wheat, toasted biscuit, nutty coffee, golden raisin, plum, pear, apple, herbal, grass, and yeast/toasted earthiness. Light-moderate herbal/spicy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of honey, wheat, toasted biscuit, nutty coffee, golden raisin, plum, pear, apple, herbal, grass, and yeast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of bready malt, coffee, and light-moderate fruity yeast/earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and zero cloying sweetness after the finish. Light dryness from bitterness, lightly increasing through the glass. Light-medium carbonation and fairly full body; with a very smooth, creamy/bready, and lightly slick/sticky/chalky balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Very well hidden alcohol for 9.7%, only a slight warmth after the finish. Overall this is a very nice wheatwine style. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of bready malt, coffee, and light-moderate fruity yeast/earthy hop flavors; very smooth and easy to sip on for the big ABV. A very enjoyable offering.
