Poured from a 12 oz bottle bought in Tel Aviv.
L - Extremely dark brown color that is opaque, but holding it up to the light shows that it is clear. This also allows you to see there are a million tiny bubbles constantly rising through the beer. The head is off white and is sparse at first, then fades to just a ring around the glass.
S - Very authentic aroma for an English porter. Some chocolate and lots of slightly roasted grain. Overlaying all was a light herbal hop note that definitely seemed English.
T - The flavors are dominated by herbal hops followed by chocolate and grain flavors from the malt Then in the finish the herbal notes rise up again. I'd like more malt in the balance, but this is not out of line with some English examples I've had.
F - Light to medium body with low carbonation. Low hops bitterness, but the fermentation was so clean that there is little malt sweetness. No alcohol presence.
O - This was a pretty good English-style porter, similar to some I've had in pubs from the source. I would personally prefer more malt backbone and lowering of the hops flavor a touch, but I found no flaws in this beer.

didnt smell greaat but not bad. decent malty breadyness to it. i couldnt pick up any oak notes at all. much more of a brown ale than a porter

Pours almost completely black color with a very generous cream colored head with medium retention.
Aroma is quite strong - some roasted malts, slightly woody, heavy on the coffee and also slightly soury (wine/liquor) aroma.
The taste is very bitter, roasted with some coffee. It's not bad, but a bit too strong, too bitter for my liking.
Otherwise very good.
