Got this from the Mitra in Maarssen

From a bottle into a snifter
Best Before July 2023
Vanilla RIS with maple syrup and aged in bourbon barrels

APPEARANCE: Pours out clear dark brown and yields a 1+ finger, medium looking, foamy and fizzy light tan head with okay retention. Clear bistre brown in color with no real carbonation evident. Head recedes to a decent wisp and ring. Touches of wisp and a decent ring remain leaving no real lacing on the glass as it empties.

SMELL: Some bourbon and oak, with notes of vanilla, milk chocolate, toffee and a touch of maple character as well. Plenty of booze in there.

TASTE: Bourbon, toffee and maple flavors, with some vanilla cream up front, moving into a bold and boozy finish. Aftertaste of bourbon, wood, toffee and caramel sweetness, maple flavors, vanilla cream and some milk chocolate linger on the palate. Plenty flavorful and plenty boozy as well.

PALATE: Medium body and medium carbonation. Semi-creamy on the palate, goes down fine with a solid burn and finishes a bit mouth-coating. Lots of heat lingers.

OVERALL: This is a big, bruiser of a boozer for sure. It’s got plenty of alcohol and spirit on it, as well as lots of sweet flavors too. It’s a little lighter in color than I’d like and the feel is a bit harsh, which makes it a little less enjoyable. Also, you certainly experience all 13% of this one, and the maple character isn’t all that outspoken either. Still, it’s enjoyable nonetheless, and is worth a go if you run into it somewhere. Cheers!

Toasted malts, chocolate and booze on the aroma. Taste is sweet, malty, a bit savory with some salted caramel on the finish. Medium plus body. Quite nice but I don't get the bourbon, vanilla or maple flavors.
